Johannes Groeger is a German National. After studying psychiatric social work at Leuphana University in Lueneburg, he worked for over 14 years in front-line services, in families with addiction and/or mental health issues and as a case manager in the suburbs of Hamburg. He also worked on
pilot projects for the German government in terms of inclusion. He continuously expanded the methods he is working with to further his education and training (Psychodrama, Systemic Approach, VHT, REVT, Hypnotherapy).
Johannes visited Thailand for the first time in 2002. In 2004 he came back and stayed for 6 months in an orphanage in northern Thailand. He worked on research for his university and discovered his second passion: Development Assistance & NGO work. He stayed another 6 months
and helped to set up a vocational training center. Since then he has been involved in this work, also helping set up a safe house (Myanmar) for children who were trafficked or at high risk to be trafficked. Also supporting different projects and working as a consultant for managers of different projects.
His third passion is to guide and educate groups of young people going abroad with the government program “Weltwaerts“. He oversees the Southeast Asia region and carries out training as a seminar manager and lecturer.
Johannes works resource oriented, believes in empowerment and treats every client as a unique human being. As he knows the healthcare and social services systems very well, he will assist you in a very practical way to transfer your rehab achievements to your everyday life.
